Why is it every new Gen they come out with they have to come out with a new Female leading role? im just wondering >^>

The reason why they have new girls is to add something new.
I could bet my a million dollars that if the only girl they had was Misty, you guys would be complaining that they need something new.

it's getting to get to the point where there are too many protagonists, many of which hardly appear now
