The Falcons are a Strong, Veteran Team. The are Fantastic in the Regular Season (13-3, Top 10 in like every category), but blow up in the Post Season. -Wait blow up is too harsh. They just don't come together.
Their draft this year was TERRIBLE. By ALL definitions. The traded away their future for a Great Wide Reciever... With a metal plate in his hand.. Not a great move. Jones will NEVER Match the Potential DEMANDED by his cost. To substantiate the huge cost for him they must:
(A) Win the Super Bowl in his Rookie Year. It is obvious from their huge trade that they expect to win now, and that they see him as the final piece of the puzzle - They gave most all their picks in the first 3 rounds for the next 3 years, they can't GET anything else unless they trade EVEN MORE of their future. It has to be now and with this team.
(B) Julio Jones must be an Immediate Starter. Quite Simple. You draft someone that high, he plays.
(C) He must come out and be the Falcon's Top Reciever. He can't be the second or third guy behind Gonzolez (sp?) or White. He has to go out there, get a 100 yard season, 10 or more touchdowns, and Win Rookie of the Year or place Second in Voting.
(D) He must have a career with the Falcon's on the Level of Marvin Harrisson's (sp?) with the Colts. (Best Example I can think of, without comparing him to All time greats like Rice etc etc) Slightly below or slghtly higher (130some touchdowns, 700some receptions [I can't remember his number of receptions offhand] 13 years in the NFL) . He needs to be something like that to JUSTIFY the cost of him. (Can you tell I'm just harping on the cost of the guy?)
I think they will once again win the NFC, these guys are a Powerhouse and the best team in the NFC by far. (The Packers are FAKES!!!) They will go to the Conference Championship game and lose.
